Case Type: Real Estate
Opposing Party: Landlord
Our clients were tenants in a single family home where the landlord was not responding to their requests to complete simple repairs. Instead, the landlord began harassing the tenants in hopes of convincing them to voluntarily vacate the home. After we were retained to help, we discovered that the landlord had illegally converted the single family home into a quasi-apartment complex without having obtained the necessary permits as the landlord had added a kitchen and shower to each room.
After extensive back and forth with the landlord’s attorney, we were ultimately able to settle the matter for $100,000.00 prior to starting a lawsuit.
